KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- California-based employee benefits professionals who want to learn more about private exchanges, the Affordable Care Act, and the importance of developing a competitive health plan strategy will want to join Lockton at one of three upcoming seminars in April.

The theme of the seminars is Ahead of the Curve. Thomson will speak to the importance of strategic planning related to the economic trends driving changes in the healthcare market, and how employers' obligations and roles are shifting to a proactive (vs. reactive) approach. Mike Smith, Director of Lockton Benefit Group's Exchange Solutions practice, will discuss lessons learned in the private exchange space, and key developments in this trend toward greater employee choice and responsibility. He'll explore the employers' role and opportunities in both product-driven and customized private exchanges. Ed Fensholt, Director of Compliance for Lockton Benefit Group, will speak to the execution of Affordable Care Act reporting, as well as the key challenges faced by employers as they endeavor to make the employer mandate work for their businesses.
