KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Joshua Eckrich has joined Lockton's Kansas City operation to assist clients in achieving their strategic growth goals and to manage their risk. The new Producer comes to Lockton, the world's largest independent insurance broker, from Aon where he led a team that worked with clients on complex risk management issues.
"We are excited to bring Joshua onboard to help clients with their strategic growth objectives and risk management," said Joe Agnello, president of Lockton's Kansas City office. "Joshua brings with him almost a decade of experience in the industry and adds tremendous leadership skills as a former officer in the US Army."
Prior to starting his insurance career, Eckrich learned the importance of communication, leadership and trust while fighting terrorist forces in Sadr City, Iraq. Eckrich was the Infantry Alpha Team Leader in one of the most dangerous cities in the world, or the first man to lead his team into dangerous raids. His communication and leadership skills earned his unit the Presidential Unit Citation for successfully completing a raid during the Battle of Najar – the largest fixed land battle post invasion – where his unit was outnumbered.
While the risks in the business world are different than those he faced during his 2006 and 2007 tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he explains that communication and trust are key to any successful working relationship.
"It is important to build trust with my clients so that we can communicate effectively and collaborate to achieve strategic risk management goals," Eckrich said. "While the risks in the business world have their own perils, clients can rest assured that I will lead Lockton's team to support and advise on business objectives."
Eckrich specializes in complex risk relating to real estate, food and agribusiness, and entertainment. Prior to working with Aon, Eckrich supported clients in the entertainment and amusement industries. He worked closely with clients who owned water parks, amusement parks, family entertainment centers, carnivals and sold food at the venues.
The University of Missouri-Kansas City alumnus continues to serve his country and community by being a Troop Leader for Boy Scouts of America and Board Member for the Kansas City Chapter of Folds of Honor. The organization donates scholarships to the children and spouses of badly wounded or deceased veterans. Additionally, Eckrich has been involved in leadership positions with the American Royal Association, a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides scholarships and rewards hard work, for more than 13 years.
