Lockton Chicago Wins United Way Volunteerism Pillar Award

Volunteerism Pillar Award recognizes Lockton for encouraging Associates to give back

CHICAGO, July 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- United Way of Metropolitan Chicago recognized Lockton Associates with the Volunteerism Pillar Award after they donated more than 1,100 volunteer hours in 2016. This award recognized Lockton, the world's largest privately held insurance broker, for encouraging and supporting Associates to get involved in their community through hands-on volunteerism.

Casey Warnecke, chief operating officer of Lockton Chicago and Anna Khomutova, Lockton Associate and co-chair of Chicago's charitable committee, accept the United Way Volunteerism Pillar award.

"This award is a testament to the commitment our Associates have to their local communities," said Casey Warnecke, chief operating officer of Lockton Chicago. "United Way positively impacts children and families across the globe, and we are grateful that we can make a direct impact in our local communities."

Lockton's Chicago office encourages Associates to give back to their communities by offering two days off of work to participate in volunteer activities. Associates can use this time to give back to organizations that the United Way sponsors, or an organization that has special meaning to them. Additionally, leadership doesn't just encourage Associates to get involved, they lead by example and do so themselves. Warnecke served as campaign cabinet member for United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.

"United Way is an organization that our founder, Jack Lockton, was passionate about supporting and our offices around the country, including Chicago, have embraced it as well," said Warnecke.

In addition to the volunteer work that the Chicago office does with the United Way, they also hold an annual campaign each fall to raise money for the United Way. Last year, the 200 Chicago Associates raised more than $55,000 for the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. This last campaign marked ten years that the office has supported the United Way.

Furthermore, the Chicago office is actively participating in Lockton's Fifty for 50 campaign, a global campaign aimed at raising 50,000 volunteer hours towards children's charities.
