DALLAS, Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton Companies, based in the Dallas Arts District, has launched a new corporate bike share program for Associates.
The program, sponsored by Lockton and managed by Zagster, provides bike rentals at no charge to Lockton staff members.
"We want to provide our Associates with another benefit that will help them stay healthy and take advantage of our new location in the Arts District," said Lockton Dunning CEO Bruce Sammis. "Our broader goal is to set an example for other employers and inspire them to start similar programs."
Lockton hopes the program will serve as a model for other companies in the community.
"We saw the need, and decided to take a first step toward solving it," said Sammis. "We selected Zagster as a partner because of their success implementing a large scale bike share program, started by Quicken Loans, in Detroit. We believe our program can be a similar catalyst for a broader corporate or city-run program here in Dallas."
The new bike share program is another innovation by health and welfare and risk management leader Lockton. The company already offers its Associates treadmill mounted desktop computers, a points-based wellness program, and free onsite biometric screenings, flu shots and gym memberships.
The Lockton bike share program currently offers 12 bicycles located outside Lockton's offices at 2100 Ross Ave. Employees simply download the Zagster mobile application, available for iOS and Android, register and check out a bike. More information about the program is available online.
