Lockton Adds Exchange/Marketplace Expertise to National Benefits Practice

Smith brings experience as a trusted advisor, focused on public and private exchanges

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Lockton announced the addition of Mike Smith to its national employee benefits practice, Lockton Benefit Group. Mike joins the company as Director of Exchange Solutions.

In his role, Mike is responsible for consulting with Lockton clients on public and private exchange/marketplace solutions. "Mike has more than 25 years of experience in employee benefits," said Ross Reda, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lockton Benefit Group. "He is joining us at a prime time as our Associates are engaging their clients in discussions about whether a public or private exchange/marketplace might be right for them. He's here as a trusted advisor, and will consider all available public and private exchange options, including Lockton's own private exchange offerings."

In his role, Mike and his team will offer advice on the most appropriate exchange solutions in the market. Primarily he will act as a resource for Lockton Associates and their clients in need of expertise and advice about the overall market and the exchange landscape.

Mike previously worked for ADP National Account Services as Vice President of Sales – Benefits Administration. He also worked for Workscape as the Vice President of Sales – Outsourced Benefit Administration. Mike began his career with Prudential's Group Department in underwriting, as well as sales, and also worked in the managed care industry for Tufts Health Plan.

He is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
