OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockpath, a leading provider of integrated risk management solutions, today announced Blacklight™, Lockpath's configuration assessment and asset discovery platform, has been certified by CIS Benchmarks™ to compare the configuration status of corporate servers and devices against the consensus-based best practice standards of fifteen CIS benchmarks. Organizations that leverage Blacklight can now ensure the configurations of their critical assets align with the CIS Benchmarks consensus-based practice standards.
CIS® (Center for Internet Security, Inc.) determines who is awarded CIS Benchmark Certification. In order for a product to receive this designation, a vendor's product must accurately scan and report their systems findings correctly compared to the security recommendations in the associated CIS Benchmarks profile.
"We are thrilled to be certified by CIS Benchmarks," said Chris Goodwin, Lockpath Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder. "Blacklight's alignment with these CIS benchmarks means our customers can now ensure their assets are screened for misconfigurations more often and are compliant with the standards in real time, proactively protecting them from possible breaches."
Lockpath's latest security tool, Blacklight, allows organizations of all security maturities to better monitor the configuration of their assets. Large enterprises can use Blacklight to continuously monitor all assets and confirm the work of existing configuration management tools. Companies with on-premise assessment platforms can save time and money by using Blacklight's cloud-based console. Smaller companies that could not afford assessment tools or do not want the hassle of complex implementations can now ensure configuration compliance.
"Cybersecurity challenges are mounting daily, which makes standard configurations imperative. By certifying its product with CIS, Lockpath has demonstrated its commitment to actively solve the foundational problem of ensuring standard configurations are used throughout a given enterprise," said Steve Spano, CIS President & COO.
Use of CIS Certified Security Software Products demonstrate a strong commitment by vendors to provide their customers with the ability to ensure their assets are secured according to the latest consensus-based best practice standards.
The CIS Benchmarks program is recognized as a trusted, independent authority that facilitates the collaboration of public and private industry experts to achieve consensus on practical and actionable solutions. CIS Benchmarks are recommended as industry-accepted system hardening standards and are used by organizations in meeting compliance requirements for Federal Information Security Management Act, PCI, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act and other security requirements.
