Lockheed Martin Scores 100 Percent On HRC's Corporate Equality Index For Sixth Consecutive Year
BETHESDA, Md., Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For the sixth year in a row, Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has achieved a perfect score of 100 percent on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation to measure corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) workplace inclusion.
"The CEI is the gold standard for corporate policies and practices related to LGBT employees and their families," said Kim Admire, Lockheed Martin vice president, Culture, Diversity and Equal Opportunity Programs. "The 100 percent rating reflects our mission to embrace the diverse talents and perspectives of our people to power innovation and business success."
The 2014 CEI rated 934 businesses and evaluated 40 LGBT-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Lockheed Martin's efforts in satisfying all of the CEI's criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
