Lockheed Martin's Insider Threat Detection Program proactively identifies and mitigates internal risks associated with the theft or misuse of intellectual property and trade secrets. It can identify employees who are at higher risk for being targeted by foreign intelligence or those who are more likely to misuse access privileges to protected information.
"U.S. corporations have seen a dramatic increase in economic and industrial espionage threats over the past five years and we do not see this trending data decreasing for the foreseeable future," said Robert Trono, vice president and chief security officer, Lockheed Martin Corporation. "We are honored to be recognized for our approach and use of data analytics for addressing insider threats. Our investments in this program will not only add to the security and safeguarding of our personnel, our company's proprietary information, and our reputation, but also to national and economic security," he added.
In tandem with the development of the ITDP, a predictive analytics tool, LM Wisdom ITI™ provides analysts with a picture of the insider threat risk profile across an organization. Lockheed Martin uses this this scalable solution internally and it is available to both government and commercial customers. It provides automated analysis, and can show multidimensional views of data in a variety of graphical and statistical displays that can reduce analysis time to minutes. LM Wisdom ITITM takes big data and turns it into actionable intelligence.
Government and industry cannot address the growing insider threat problem alone. Lockheed Martin has contributed a step in the right direction with the creation of the ITDP. "Even in the early stages program deployment, our ITDP has been lauded by both government agencies and private industry partners as the program after which other programs should be modeled," said Trono.
The CSO40 awards ceremony will recognize companies like Lockheed Martin for their innovations and advancements in "Defining the Future of Security and Risk." The CSO40 Security Confab + Awards will be held Mar. 31-Apr. 2, 2014 at the Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga.
