ROCKVILLE, Md., June 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Department of Justice has awarded QTC, a Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) company, a five-year contract to perform medical examination services for the Public Safety Officers' Benefits (PSOB) program. PSOB supports officers who suffer catastrophic injuries while performing their duties, as well as the family members of officers killed in the line of duty.
Leveraging its more than 30-year history of tailored and efficient healthcare solutions, QTC, the largest provider of government-outsourced health evaluation services in the nation, will provide a wide range of medical, disability and occupational health services for the program, including:
- Independent medical record reviews and examinations;
- Functional capacity examinations, which evaluate one's physical ability to perform work-related tasks; and
- Vocational assessments, which determine whether an individual is able to perform any type of gainful employment.
