Local REALTORS® Plan Furniture Drive
BOSTON, Nov. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Members of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® (GBAR) have teamed up with Olympia Moving and Storage to run a furniture drive benefitting the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. GBAR's Community Service Committee, chaired by Mary Crane of Century 21 Commonwealth in Needham, have worked with the Coalition since 2007.
The furniture drive, nicknamed "Furnish the Future", is a week long event that helps families make the transition from homelessness to permanent housing. The donations received will go to the furniture bank located at the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless headquarters in Lynn, Massachusetts. Families who are moving into permanent housing can visit the warehouse to select items to furnish their home. The Furniture Drive is being held November 13-15. Community members can contact Olympia Moving and Storage directly to schedule a truck pickup at the donor's home or another location. The deadline for pickup requests is Friday, November 9th. Additionally, items can be dropped off at the Olympia Moving and Storage warehouse located on 17 Bridge St. in Watertown, MA. (24 hour notice required).
