MESA, Ariz., Sept. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Morgan Wehner was first introduced to Kumon as a high school teacher over 10 years ago. She noticed that a lot of her high performing students were supplementing their education with Kumon, became intrigued by how advanced those students were and then decided to look into the method. She eventually opened her own Kumon Center and was an Instructor for seven years before taking a break to raise her family. Today, she is building upon her 12 years of teaching experience as the proud owner of Kumon Math and Reading Center of Mesa-Las Sendas.
"I'm ecstatic for the opportunity to run another Kumon Center," said Wehner, owner and Instructor of Kumon Math and Reading Center of Mesa-Las Sendas. "I love the program and what it does for children. During my time-off, I really missed the lesson planning, working with students and being an extension of their family."
The Kumon Method empowers preschool to high school aged children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. It goes beyond traditional tutoring by actively developing critical thinking skills as children progress independently through a carefully crafted curriculum.
"I have five kids and all of them have benefited from the Kumon Program in different ways," said Wehner. "Four of them have various learning disabilities and one of them is advanced. Seeing both sides as an Instructor and a parent has been absolutely eye opening. I love that Kumon allows you to meet the students where they are at and then help them advance with their own ability."
Kumon sparks critical thinking, establishes a pattern of success and builds confidence that can lead to accelerated learning throughout life.
