Local CITGO Marketers Launch "Building Blocks for C.S. Mott" Campaign
Program to Raise Money for Family Hope Fund at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Local CITGO Marketers Barrick Enterprises, RKA Petroleum, Tri-Lakes Petroleum and Watkins Oil have launched the "Building Blocks for C.S. Mott" campaign to support the University of Michigan's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. C.S. Mott Children's Hospital "building blocks" can be purchased for $1 at 13 participating CITGO locations across Ann Arbor through November 12. The money will go to C.S. Mott's Family Hope Fund, which provides practical help to families with children who are being treated at the hospital.
"At a time when many families are struggling, an increase in donations for the Family Hope Fund is extremely important," said Anita Clos, social work manager at C.S. Mott. "We hope that the 'Building Blocks for C.S. Mott' campaign will be the foundation of a long-term partnership with CITGO and the local CITGO Marketers and Retailers."
Ranked as one of the nation's top children's hospitals, C.S. Mott is a tremendous resource for critically ill children. The Family Hope Fund was established by Detroit Tiger Brandon Inge and his wife Shani, to offer financial support for needy families during their child's treatment at C.S. Mott. The money raised through the CITGO "Building Blocks for C.S. Mott" campaign will provide families in need with food, lodging and transportation to and from the hospital.
"C.S. Mott touches the lives of countless families not only in Michigan, but across the country and around the world. Seeing our local Marketers working in their community with such an inspiring organization truly shows how one action can send a ripple of good that has a far-reaching impact," said Gustavo Velasquez, vice president supply and marketing for CITGO Petroleum Corporation. "We are very proud of our Michigan Marketers and their location managers and employees for their efforts to support C.S. Mott Children's Hospital."
Additional events and promotions will take place throughout the six-week campaign, including giveaways from Kellogg's for individuals who purchase $5 or more of the $1 blocks. Visit the 13 participating CITGO locations below for regular updates:
