The National Science Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation are sponsoring the event, which is hosted by the National Geographic Society at their Washington D.C. headquarters. |

Vinay Chaudhri, program director in SRI's Information and Computing Sciences Division (along with Deborah Frazier, a teacher from Monta Vista High School in Silicon Valley, who is currently working with SRI) will present Inquire: A Textbook with Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. They will show an electronic version of a biology textbook embedded with knowledge representation and reasoning. They will discuss how these capabilities can help a student in active reading and provide support during homework.

Jeremy Roschelle, director of SRI's Center for Technology in Learning, is one of the summit chairs. The summit advisory committee, reviewers, and editors include SRI's Judith Fusco, research scientist, and Patricia Schank, senior cognitive scientist. |
