SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Jim Cox has been hired as Lithium Technologies' new senior vice president and chief financial officer. His responsibilities include building on the multi-year financial strategy that supports Lithium's goals of strengthening its leadership position in the community market, while further growing its presence in the social media management space.
"This is an exciting time for Lithium as we look to grow our business and diversify our product portfolio to take advantage of the huge market opportunity in front of us," said Rob Tarkoff, Lithium president and CEO. "I know Jim's the right guy for the job, with his track record of growing revenues and increasing operating income in his prior roles. We're looking forward to him rolling up his sleeves and getting involved right away."
"As a former Lithium customer, I know and understand the value the platform offers. The power of Lithium's technology, coupled with my interactions with Rob on Advent's board made joining the team an easy decision," said Cox. "Lithium's best-in-class product line and presence in the customer experience space has it well-positioned in the industry. I'm excited and looking forward to being a part of the digital legacy the company is creating."
Cox joins Lithium from Advent Software, where he held the title of executive vice president and CFO. After accepting the role of CFO in the midst of the 2009 financial crisis, Cox helped grow Advent's revenue while tripling operating income. During his tenure as Advent CFO, he was awarded the title of 2015's CFO of the Year for small-mid sized public companies by San Francisco Business Times. Prior to joining Advent, Cox held held various roles at UTStarcom Inc and PricewaterhouseCooper.
Effective immediately, Jim will assume responsibility for supporting Lithium's growth strategies, overseeing financial operations and driving operational excellence for the company. He will report directly to CEO Rob Tarkoff.
Cox succeeds Mark Culhane in the role of CFO. "I'd personally like to thank Mark for his dedication to Lithium and for building a fantastic team over these past four years. With the hard work Mark has done, Jim is inheriting a world-class team in his new role," said Tarkoff.
Cox's hire comes on the heels of a string of recent highlights and solid growth for Lithium. The Lithium platform has 100 million unique monthly visitors, and 2016 saw more brands doing more innovating things with Lithium's platform than ever before – as evidenced by the 100+ Lithy submissions received in June. On the analyst front Lithium received Elite Status in the annual CRM Watchlist (alongside only Salesforce and Microsoft) and after only launching in June, Lithium's new social marketing product Lithium Reach has already been listed in a series of Forrester reports(1).
