Litera® Seals Licensing Deal With GCRYPT Ltd. For Patented Secure Email Delivery Technology
MCLEANSVILLE, N.C., June 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Litera® (www.litera.com), a provider of Collaborative Content Lifecycle Management (CCLM) solutions, has signed an agreement with UK company GCRYPT Ltd. to license SSLPost, a patented, secure email and document delivery technology. SSLPost enables users to encrypt email and attachments so they cannot be read or changed without the author's permission. A comprehensive audit trail confirms that an email was received and opened by the appropriate person.
Under the terms of the agreement, Litera will have an exclusive license for sales and marketing of SSLPost in the United States and Canada and a non-exclusive license for the rest of the world. In addition, Litera has also acquired U.S. Patent Application No. 11/134951 and Canadian Patent Application No. 2,569,761 for the encryption and decryption technology that is used in the SSLPost secure e-mail product.
"SSLPost is known for its secure and encrypted recorded delivery of e-mail and documents; adding their technology to our own patented solutions means that our customers will reap major benefits—particularly in the area of secure and metadata-free email," said Deepak Massand, Litera's CEO.
Michael Alculumbre, CEO of GCRYPT said, "This agreement is an exciting opportunity for GCRYPT to partner with a company with substantial North American legal market experience. SSLPost will enable Litera to offer its clients secure email and document delivery as an integral component of its industry leading content lifecycle management portfolio."
