AFGE Defense Conference Chair Don Hale discussed DoD's plan to slash thousands of civilian workforce jobs and how AFGE is responding. Hale also detailed the impact job cuts would have on service delivery and military support.

AFGE Political Action Committee Director Bob Nicklas and the AFL-CIO's Ben Waxman then discussed their work in Ohio fighting to retain collective bargaining rights for public employees. On Election Day voters ultimately rejected Issue 2 (Senate Bill 5) on the ballot, which would have restricted the bargaining rights of more than 360,000 public workers.
