LISC/Chicago's New Communities Program to be Featured at This Week's Nat'l Symposium on Economic Outlook for Communities
CHICAGO, March 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Revitalization work in several Chicago neighborhoods is being featured this week at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) 30th Anniversary Leadership Symposium and Gala in Washington, D.C., a national gathering of thought leaders on community development.

The session highlighting Chicago will take place on Thursday, March 24, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. EDT and will focus on the Auburn Gresham, Chicago Lawn and Little Village neighborhoods. Also profiled during that session will be neighborhoods in the Bay Area, Duluth, and rural Pennsylvania.
The LISC symposium runs from March 23-25 and will highlight 10 urban and rural areas around the country where LISC's comprehensive community development program—known in Chicago as the New Communities Program—is helping raise standards of living and improve quality of life.
