Broyd brings decades of global business experience and a long-standing commitment to science and innovation to his new role as part of the management team.

Broyd is a director of Waypoint Capital, the business enterprise for the managers and advisers associated with the Bertarelli family; Affidea, a diagnostic imaging company headquartered in Amsterdam; Esaote, an ultrasound and MRI producer headquartered in Genoa; and London-based Northill Asset Management.
Broyd has also served as a board member and chairman of several private and public companies in France, Italy, Russia and the United States. He also currently serves as the Chairman of Reach to Teach, a charity that provides primary education in remote rural areas of India; as Trustee and Treasurer of the Start Network, a first-response humanitarian aid consortium; and is an advisory board member of the Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has a Ph.D. in Regional Economic Development from Cornell University.
