CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- LiquiGlide Inc., providers of a super slippery coating platform that uses the science of liquid-impregnated surfaces, today announced that it will be showcasing its patented technology at the Coatings Trends & Technologies (CTT) conference taking place September 14-15, 2017, at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center (booth #12) in Lombard, Illinois, as well as the Western Coating Symposium and Show (WCS) taking place October 15-18 at the Paris Conference Center (booth #111) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
At each event, LiquiGlide will be demonstrating its patented LiquiGlide CleanTanX™ system, a complete industry solution that addresses the manufacturing challenges created by viscous liquids sticking to equipment, such as blenders, reactors and tanks. In manufacturing tank applications, the system has been shown to reduce up to 95% of product waste, wash water and the associated cleaning costs.
Specific event activities include:
Coatings Trends & Technologies (CTT) conference: The two-day educational conference is designed to educate formulators and R&D personnel on the latest coatings research and emerging trends in the coating industry. On Friday, September 15, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Dr. Brian Jordan, Technical Project Manager at LiquiGlide, will be presenting, "Advancing Sustainability in Industry via Liquid-Impregnated Surfaces." The presentation will provide background on Liquid-Impregnated Surfaces (LIS) coatings and how these coatings compare to traditional paint and coating technology, as well as explore fundamental LIS concepts and coating design features. In addition, the presentation will highlight relevant LIS coating applications in consumer packaging and industrial manufacturing tanks with an emphasis on advancing sustainability within each industry. Throughout the conference, LiquiGlide will be showcasing its CleanTanX™ system and LIS technology at booth #12.
Western Coating Symposium and Show (WCS): The three-day trade show provides an educational and networking opportunity for technical individuals in the coatings industry. LiquiGlide will be exhibiting their CleanTanX system at booth #111 to demonstrate the utility of their LIS technology to individuals that develop and manufacture coatings.
"The science and application of liquid-impregnated surfaces has numerous advantages within the coatings industry," said Jordan. "At these events, our goal is to educate attendees on how our approach compares to traditional paint and coating technology, and to illustrate the operational advantages to dramatically improve operations and reduce waste."
"Our mission at LiquiGlide is to eliminate waste for viscous products across industries, while promoting sustainable manufacturing," said LiquiGlide's Co-founder and Chairman of the Board, and MIT Professor, Kripa Varanasi. "Our CleanTanx™ system provides significant sustainability and profitability benefits for manufacturers of viscous or sticky products, and we look forward to showcasing this technology at CTT and WCS."
LiquiGlide coatings are custom engineered for each specific application, and can be retrofitted onsite without needing to remove current equipment, minimizing installation costs and operational downtime. LiquiGlide coatings are proven effective and safe across CPG, industrial and manufacturing applications.
"Waste is a significant pain point in manufacturing, leading to low product yields and significant time and expense spent keeping production equipment clean," said LiquiGlide CEO and co-founder Dave Smith. "The CleanTanx™ system's versatility allows it to be deployed across a wide range of manufacturing applications, and with the array of industries attending CTT and WCS, we are excited to make connections and detail how LiquiGlide can help these companies drop significant savings to their bottom line."
