DETROIT, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Linkage Design announces today that Michael Check has joined the company as CEO. His focus will be to grow Linkage's global digital content creation services business.
With over 20 years experience, Mr. Check brings to Linkage Design a deep understanding of the digital design process and a highly regarded industry standing. Prior positions include General Manager of the Americas at Alias|Wavefront, General Manager, North America, at ICEM Ltd., and VP Sales at RTT USA.
"Linkage clearly listens to what their customer's want and have adopted a 'care & attention' mandate for its customers and employees," Mr. Check says. "Our employees come from a unique and different resource pool, they are the best-of-the-best."
Linkage continues to grow by offering its customers a truly relationship-based business model. In late 2011, Linkage opened a Greensboro, NC design office to support its customers locally. "We are very happy with the success of our Greensboro office, this area of the US is really exciting," adds Mr. Check. "We will grow by opening offices in other key areas of business." In early 2012, Linkage opened a UK-based office to support its European customers.
To celebrate the opening of its new Greensboro office, Linkage will sponsor "Creatini" on Thursday, May 10 from 5:30-7:30 at the Kress Terrace, 212 S. Elm St. in Greensboro. "Creatini" is hosted by the Center for Creative Economy, the hub for creative industries and business in the Triad. The Center hosts Creatini each quarter to foster interaction and collaboration among creative industries and businesses in the Triad. Each Creatini has a theme, and May 10th features speaker Ken Grant, Director of Design for Volvo Trucks with North American headquarters in Greensboro. Ken is known internationally for his product and transportation design. The Center's Executive Director, Margaret Collins states, "We are thrilled that Linkage Design chose the Triad as a location to expand their business and are sponsoring our 'Creatini' as their first official event. Their presence in the region and commitment to developing design talent will be of tremendous value to the business community in the Triad and state of North Carolina." About Linkage Design
l i n k a g e design is one of the leading providers of design resources with emphasis on providing these resources combined with the use of advanced digital design software solutions. Linkage Design recruits and employs an elite mix of degreed industrial designers and digital sculptors who work in our customer's design studios, along-side your employees or in one of our three worldwide studios. Linkage Design resources work hard and smart by using the latest digital design tools like AutoDesk Surface & Automotive, ICEM Surf, Photoshop, Maya and other digital tools.
Linkage has also launched digital design-based training programs out of its offices where Linkage's experienced trainers are teaching a new wave of digital sculptors. The targeted resource is someone who shows an aptitude for 3D digital modeling but doesn't have the formal training one might get from a four-year art school or may not have the financial resources to attend these colleges. "We are really excited about this training program because we know there is a finite number of good digital sculptors in the industry, so we've taken it upon ourselves to find qualified candidates with the intent to grow these resources," says Check.
Linkage design has office in Detroit, Greensboro, NC and the UK.
