MURRAY HILL, N.J. and NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., Aug. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Petroleum engineers and geologists are invited to visit with Linde experts at this year's Unconventional Resources Technology Conference to be held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver on August 25-27.
"We'll be discussing the value of using energized solutions incorporating carbon dioxide and nitrogen for hydraulic fracturing to extract hydrocarbons from unconventional reservoirs," said Robin Watts, Oil and Gas Technology manager for Linde LLC.
Energized solutions can add value at every stage of a well's lifetime, and can improve production in unconventional reservoirs beginning with the first fracturing operation. Energized fracturing has been successful in a wide variety of fields and basins. "We believe that the data clearly demonstrates the benefits of using energized fracturing in a variety of situations," Watts said. "Reported results indicate that well-managed energized fluid fracturing has the potential to improve well performance and achieve a lower unit cost of production than non-energized approaches, at the same time reducing the water footprint."
"This conference is a perfect platform for information exchange because it brings together all the stakeholders in the exploration and production process," said Watts. "We look to work with and support E&Ps by having an integrated approach to energized solutions, expanding from proof-of-concept to pilot programs to supporting full reservoir or well programs."
URTeC 2014 is the industry's only integrated event for unconventional resource teams. It is a collaborative effort of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
"At our booth #1708, we'll be discussing the economic and productivity benefits of using energized solutions with hydraulic fracturing at the beginning of a well program, evolving to the use of energized solutions for IOR and EOR," Watts said. Linde will also be highlighting its total capabilities for exploration and production using energized solutions focused on improving productivity and economic efficiency, and reducing environmental footprint:
- CO2 and N2 supply and equipment services during hydraulic fracturing to help improve conductivity, reduce water damage, reduce water retention, and minimize water contact
- Mobile gas clean-up unit to remove CO2 from early flowback natural gas
- Huff-n-Puff for individual EOR well treatment and pilot flooding
