TAMPA, Fla., July 1, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Linda A. Livingstone, dean and professor of management of the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University, begins a one-year term as chair of the AACSB International (AACSB) board of directors today. Livingstone succeeds Robert S. Sullivan, dean of the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego.
"As AACSB International readies for its next millennium of management education leadership, Linda Livingstone is the right leader to spearhead our efforts," said John J. Fernandes, president and chief executive officer. "Her steady hand, keen focus and welcoming demeanor will help AACSB's diverse, global membership achieve common ground and mutual gains."
Livingstone's volunteer work with AACSB has spanned more than ten years. She was elected to the AACSB board in 2009 as a member, and as vice chair-chair elect in 2013. Over the years, Livingstone has provided great direction to the future of management education by serving as chair and/or member of more than 16 different task forces, working groups or committees including, the Impact of Business Schools Task Force, the Ph.D. Bridge Program Task Force, the Doctoral Faculty Shortage Working Group, the Blue Ribbon Committee on Accreditation Quality, the Committee on Issues in Management Education (CIME), the Special Committee on Global Accreditation Strategy, and the AACSB 2020 Committee.

"It is an exciting time to be a part of AACSB as we focus on visioning the future of both management education and the organization itself," said Livingstone. "This will occur by examining the future roles of management in society, the evolving expectations of management education, the emerging opportunities these provide for business schools, and how AACSB and business schools can more effectively serve management education needs at the global level—all while engaging in a search for the next CEO," continued Livingstone. "I am honored to work with the Board of Directors as we lead AACSB through this time of enormous change and opportunity."
Since 2002, Livingstone has served as dean and professor of Management of the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University.
