"The first Lincoln school was established specifically to assist veterans coming home from World War II," says Lincoln's CEO Shaun McAlmont. "We've never lost sight of that mission. Lincoln holds our country's military in the highest esteem, and we're offering the American Hero scholarship as another way of making sure our veterans—America's Heroes—have all the resources they need to launch new careers that build on the technical skills the military helped them develop."
The American Hero Scholarship will be available to service members who begin training at Lincoln after January 1, 2014. Across the country Lincoln schools offer veterans the opportunity to translate their military skills into skills that create job opportunities in Automotive Technology, Health Sciences, Business and Information Technology, Skilled Trades, Hospitality Services and more.
This scholarship is being made available along with many other opportunities to help students fund hands-on training for skills that meet the needs of employers. In all, Lincoln will award more than $10 million in scholarships this year to deserving students who are ready to take the next step along their chosen career paths.
