Lincoln Electric Promotes Steven Sumner To Vice President Of Global Equipment

CLEVELAND, May 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lincoln Electric Company, a subsidiary of Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., announced today the promotion of Steven R. Sumner to Vice President Global Equipment, effective immediately.  Mr. Sumner previously served as Director of Global Marketing and Product Development.

Mr. Sumner will be responsible for strategic planning and the alignment of equipment system product development activities globally.  This new role is focused on leveraging Lincoln Electric's technologies, application expertise and leading position in arc welding equipment systems to accelerate revenue growth and brand awareness in targeted markets.  This role is integral in leading growth initiatives as part of the Company's '2020 Vision and Strategy' to increase growth, profitability and returns.

Mr. Sumner joined Lincoln Electric in 1987 as an engineering trainee in Machine R&D and has over twenty eight years of experience in product development, sales and marketing in both U.S. and international markets.  Most recently, Mr. Sumner served as Director of Global Marketing and Product Development, where he was instrumental in developing and managing Lincoln Electric's global team focused on specific applications and engineering expertise targeting key business sectors.  Mr. Sumner earned a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University and an MBA in marketing from Case Western Reserve University.
