LIM College's Summer Fashion Lab Announces 2014 Schedule:
High School Students Can Take Courses in Fashion Blogging, Vintage Clothing, Urban Fashion, Field Trips to NYC Fashion Companies and More
NEW YORK, March 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LIM College, which is located in New York City and focused exclusively on the study of business and fashion, has announced that its 2014 Summer Fashion Lab program for high school and visiting college students is now accepting registrations.
Among the highlights of this year's courses are:
Fashion Field Trips: Students will go on-site at New York City fashion sites to meet buyers, publicists, trend-spotters, stylists and manufacturers and learn how to pursue successful fashion industry careers.
Fashion Blogger Boot Camp: Taught by Julia DiNardo of FashionPulseDaily.com, students will learn how to craft fashion-related blog and social media posts as they begin to acquire the skills needed to get started in the field.
Vintage Clothing: With visits to top vintage boutiques in New York City – including Screaming Mimi's, Tokio 7, and What Goes Around Comes Around -- to check out the latest retro looks, students will learn how designers move fashion forward by looking at the past.
Urban Fashion: By analyzing leaders in hip-hop culture, students will learn how a look has developed into a major force in streetwear. Career opportunities in this area will also be explored.
Other courses include, but are not limited to: Event Planning, Fashion Forecasting, Fashion Magazines, Fashion Photography, Fashion Sketching & Drawing, Fashion Buying, Men's Fashion, Styling, and Social Media & Mobile Marketing.
LIM College's 2014 Summer Fashion Lab will run for four consecutive weeks, from July 7 – August 1. Non-credit courses are $225 each and courses that offer college credit are $395. Students are permitted to register for a total of up to 8 courses.

By studying the business of fashion with talented industry professionals at LIM College, Summer Fashion Lab participants will explore firsthand many of the exciting career opportunities the fashion world has to offer."
This year, LIM College expects to enroll a record-setting 300+ students in its Summer Fashion Lab program. Last year, students came from as far away as Poland, Mexico, Brazil, California, Oregon, Texas and Montana to participate.
LIM College offers housing to Summer Fashion Lab students in the state-of-the-art 1760 Residence Hall on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The residence hall has staff on duty around the clock and features air-conditioned double and triple rooms with private bathrooms. Summer Fashion Lab students who stay in the Residence Hall can also take part in activities such as New York City sightseeing tours and outings to Broadway shows.
