LIM College Offers High School Students a Fashionable Summer in New York City
Registration Now Open for 2018 Summer Fashion Lab Courses
NEW YORK, March 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- LIM College, which is located in New York City and focused exclusively on the study of business and fashion, has announced that registration is now open for its 2018 Summer Fashion Lab for high school and visiting college students.
LIM College's Summer Fashion Lab is a pre-college program that gives students the opportunity to "try-on" studying fashion at the college level and living in New York City. One-week courses in subjects such as fashion buying, styling, fashion illustration, photography, visual display, event planning, social media marketing — and more — are available.
New courses include Backstage Pass: Publicity and Event Planning where participants will go behind the scenes to learn how to publicize a fashion event, and Red Carpet Ready! which explores the influence of art, music, and pop culture on celebrity fashion.
Also new this summer is Fashion Media: Making a Magazine, a hands-on experience in which students will create their own fashion magazine, and Digital Trend Forecasting, which will focus on fashion analytics and trend forecasting platforms.
A record-setting 400+ students are expected to enroll in 2018's Summer Fashion Lab. Last year, young people came to LIM College from all around the globe — including from as far away as the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong to as close by as Westchester and New Jersey.
Summer Fashion Lab will run for four weeks: June 25-29 and July 9-13, 16-20 and 23-27. Tuition for non-credit courses is $200 per course, with discounts offered when registering for more than one class. Courses that offer one college elective credit are $350 each and eligible participants may earn a maximum of three credits over the course of the four weeks.
Housing is available in LIM College's residence hall on Manhattan's Upper East Side for $495 per week. The residence hall has staff on duty around the clock and features air-conditioned double and triple rooms with private bathrooms. Students who stay in the residence hall can also take part in activities such as New York City sightseeing tours and outings to Broadway shows.
A complete schedule and course descriptions are available on LIM College's website. For more information, or to register, email [email protected] or go to www.limcollege.edu/summerfashionlab.
