BOSTON, May 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Postgres Vision 2017 will host a competition to unearth creative new uses of Postgres. The Postgres Vision Lightning Talks will be a friendly competition to celebrate innovation and creative problem solving with Postgres. The competition will take place on Wednesday, June 28, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston.
The Lightning Talks will illustrate Postgres capabilities and application scenarios, and demonstrate novel ways developers use Postgres to move data across enterprise networks. Most importantly, the Lightning Talks will give individuals with unique and innovative ideas an opportunity to showcase their ingenuity.

Five to 10 presenters will be selected to present their Lightning Talks during a session on Wednesday, June 28, 2:00pm-3:00pm. Lightning Talks will be judged according to their originality and feasibility by a panel of technologists and business executives. The prize is a DJI Phantom 3 4K Video Drone. The winner will be announced during the closing remarks of Postgres Vision on Wednesday, June 28.

Dave Page, Vice President, Chief Architect, Tools and Installers, EnterpriseDB and PostgreSQL Global Development Group Core Team member, will host the Postgres Vision Lightning Talks. Page manages the development of EnterpriseDB's suites of tools that support database administrators in managing EDB Postgres. He oversees the development of installers and packages for all EnterpriseDB products and for open source PostgreSQL releases. He joined EnterpriseDB in 2007 and has been influential in the development of critical database management tools.
