Lighthouse International Commends Joan Rivers's Involvement with their POSH Home for the Holidays Sale
Emmy Award-Winning Television Talk Show Host, Jewelry Designer, and Fashion Critic Records PSA for Lighthouse International POSH Fundraiser
NEW YORK, Dec. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lighthouse International, New York's leading non-profit organization dedicated to preserving vision and helping people of all ages overcome the challenges of vision loss, is excited to commend Joan Rivers's involvement with the POSH Home for the Holidays Sale. Rivers recently recorded a PSA announcing the event and her personal tie to the blind, which is currently being aired on radio stations throughout New York.
"Did you know that one in every two New Yorkers will be affected by vision issues? For me this is a personal story because my dear mother at the end of her life was nearly blind," said Joan Rivers. "That's why for years Melissa and I have been involved in helping raise money for programs to promote healthy eyesight. Now you can help too, so join us and help raise money for Lighthouse International while decking your halls with boughs of holly."
The POSH Holiday Sale will have its preview night on Thursday, December 8th, from 6-8 p.m. at The Plaza Hotel, 1 West 58th St., NY. The POSH public sale is open Friday, December 9, 2011 to Saturday December 10, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. also at the Plaza Hotel. Thousands of items for the home, one-of-a-kind special gifts and holiday wreaths created by leading designers will be featured. Joan Rivers's jewelry will also be featured within the sale. All proceeds benefit Lighthouse International, a leading nonprofit organization fighting vision loss though prevention, treatment and empowerment.
Tickets for the public sale are $10 per day and are available at the door. For preview tickets and general information call 212-821-9445 or visit poshsale.org.
