Lifetime Pursues Alleged Chinese Patent Infringers
CLEARFIELD, Utah, Oct. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Lifetime Products, a world leader in blow-molded folding tables and chairs, recently took action to enforce its patent rights in China against Shaoxing Hongye Leisure Product Co., Ltd.
Lifetime obtained information that suggested that Hongye was allegedly manufacturing tables and chairs that incorporate features that are covered by one or more of Lifetime's Chinese patents. The patent at issue has been the subject of successful litigation by Lifetime in China and has been upheld by the Chinese Patent and Trademark Office. On September 30, 2013, Lifetime filed an application with the Chinese Customs Department to have certain Hongye containers inspected for suspected patent infringement. On October 8, 2013, Chinese Customs in Ningbo, China detained 15 containers originating from Hongye that were being shipped to Valencia, Spain. Based on the customs documents, the 15 containers hold 12,240 items and have a declared value of $314,078.
As both a manufacturer and innovator, Lifetime has a long history of enforcing its intellectual property rights in the United States and other countries throughout the world. For more information about Lifetime Products, Inc. and its products, email [email protected].
