SAN FRANCISCO, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Life360, the leading location and communication app for families, announced today its integration with IFTTT, a service that lets you create powerful connections with one simple statement: if this then that. The new Life360 Channel on IFTTT is the first that allows people to set up Recipes and trigger actions based on the location of family members, not just their own personal location.
For example, people can use Life360 Recipes to lock the doors and turn off the lights when the last member of the family has left the house. Families can set up lights to blink when each family member arrives home. Leveraging Life360's geo-fencing capabilities, a message can be sent to Google Glass when a family member leaves an area. The Life360 Channel also has Recipes that enable family members to pay closer attention to each other's health and wellbeing, such as receiving an alert when each member of the family wakes up.
"As life moves to the phone, family location awareness offers valuable convenience for busy families," said Chris Hulls, co-founder and CEO of Life360. "Our integration with IFTTT is an exciting next step as part of our vision for Life360 becoming the hub for connected families. We have moved far beyond solving the 'where are you?' question and are leveraging our family location awareness platform to help smart homes and connected cars better address the needs of family units."
"The Life360 Channel is especially exciting because it is an incredibly unique product introducing the power of IFTTT to millions of tech-savvy families," said Linden Tibbets, co founder and CEO of IFTTT.
Life360's integration with IFTTT is the company's first official API integration. Life360 plans to soon make its API public.
