Life Wireless hires Susan J. Berlin as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Counsel
COVINGTON, Ga., Sept. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Life Wireless™, a cellular provider offering free phone service to income-eligible customers through the federal Lifeline program, has hired Susan J. Berlin as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Counsel.
Berlin has 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, most recently as counsel for Sprint. She has also worked at NuVox Communications, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, and MCI Telecommunications.

At Sprint, Berlin represented the company before state Public Service Commissions and was responsible for Lifeline regulatory compliance issues. She will take on similar duties at Life Wireless.

To be eligible for the Lifeline program, potential subscribers must take part in a federal assistance program such as Medicaid or Food Stamps, or earn no more than 135 percent of the federal poverty level. Customers may not receive service from more than one Lifeline carrier at the same time.
Life Wireless customers receive a basic mobile handset with voicemail, text messaging, call waiting, and other features. Calling plans offer up to 250 minutes a month.
