Library of Congress Selects LAC Group to Provide Managed Services, Staffing and Project Management for the Stack & Collections Maintenance Support Program (SCMSP)
ROCKVILLE, Md., Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LAC Group, the Leader in Information Curation and Knowledge Management(SM), is proud to announce that the Library of Congress (LC) has awarded a five-year contract to LAC Group to help manage the Library's collections, including the orderly integration of new acquisitions, which are growing at a rate of approximately 2.25 million pieces annually.
The 12+ million dollar award will have 50+ LAC staff supporting the Library's Collections Access, Loan and Management (CALM) division by performing a variety of stack maintenance and collection management functions, including relocation of items to a newly constructed high density, offsite storage facility in Maryland. LAC Group personnel will be working under the Stack & Collections Maintenance Support Program (SCMSP), which plays a critical role in CALM's ability to maintain a successful public service program.
