LEHI, Utah, Aug. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- LGCY Power (LGCY) https://www.lgcypower.com/, a Sunrun Certified Partner, today announced that beginning August 7, 2018 the company will host a special weeklong charity event to raise money in support of the Utah based non-profit organization, Tiny Hero and the fight against Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernias (CDH).
During the week, the LGCY sales team can donate a percentage of sales to Tiny Hero.
Tiny Hero was established in 2014 by Steve and Annie Zolman to help families affected by CDH find the best care, a supportive community and a hope filled future. In 2014 their baby Adam was diagnosed with CDH. The initial diagnosis gave very little hope of a positive outcome, but the family refused to give up. The family found a CDH expert doctor, Dr. David Kays who is located at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida that was as determined as they were to help Adam overcome CDH and survive. Today, Adam is a healthy and happy boy.
CDH is a hole in the diaphragm, the muscle under the lungs that is responsible for breathing, that allows organs from the abdomen to move into the chest. It affects about one in every 2,500 babies and is usually discovered through prenatal ultrasounds.
"Part of our mission statement is to be the best version of yourself and to help others do the same and supporting worthy causes like Tiny Hero is one of the ways we live our mission statement," said Doug Robinson, CEO of LGCY Power. "We found out about Tiny Hero through an employee whose child was diagnosed with CDH. It became very personal to us and we knew this cause was something we wanted to get behind."
Every quarter LGCY dedicates time and resources to support charitable causes and organizations such as local homeless shelters, Habitat for Humanity and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. In addition to these quarterly events, once a year the company organizes humanitarian missions to areas in need around the globe. Last year the company traveled to Thailand to help build playgrounds at elementary schools and in 2016 the team went to Peru to build ventilated ovens out of adobe brick in homes and to plant gardens in remote villages.
