LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics (LG) today announced its new series of self-cleaning, large-capacity ovens featuring the Aqua Clean Enamel (ACE) coating. Demonstrated publicly for the first time at the 2013 International CES® (booth #8204), this new coating represents a breakthrough in oven technology, enabling the user to enjoy the benefit of fast Easy Cleaning and automatic Self Cleaning.

With Easy Cleaning, the user simply sprays water inside the oven, and then puts the heat on to get rid of food residue, while the Self Cleaning function uses extremely high heat to remove traces of grime. Where most manufacturers may offer only one of these convenient features, LG's new ACE coating provides consumers with both options to help ensure consumers are not burdened with manual cleaning duties.
Seong-jin Jo, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Appliance Company, said, "While some ovens with internal coatings have an easy cleaning function, they may be unable to cope with the heat required for effective self cleaning. LG's ACE coating and our Easy Cleaning and Self Cleaning capabilities offer our consumers another layer of smart convenience, making home appliance use easy and virtually hassle-free."
LG's new ACE coating helps ensure cleaning even with stubborn food residue. Unlike conventional interior oven coatings, ACE features a unique composition of enamel properties. Water penetrates between the special ACE coating surface and food residue, helping to separate baked-on food from the oven's walls. This means the oven can be cleaned with nothing more than water and moderate heat, eliminating the need for harsh chemical cleaning agents.
With LG's new Easy Cleaning and Self Cleaning features, consumers have the freedom to choose between speedy manual cleaning and a fully automated process. The new coating technology also helps to significantly reduce the time needed to clean LG's new ovens. The entire process takes a mere 20 minutes, including heating the oven to the required temperature and the cool-down period.
Offering 6.7-cubic-foot capacity for the electric double oven range and 6.1-cubic-foot capacity for the gas double oven range, LG's new ovens provide more room for customers to prepare multiple meals simultaneously. The extra space is ideal for cooking meals large enough to entertain large groups.
