LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics' new "Music Flow" Smart Wi-Fi audio lineup, demonstrated for the first time here today at the 2015 International CES®, will let music lovers choose what they want to hear, when they want to hear it – thanks to Google Cast technology embedded in the device and alliances with such popular music streaming providers as iHeartRadio, Rhapsody®, Spotify, TuneIn and others.*
The flexible new LG Music Flow Wi-Fi audio lineup for the United States includes the company's first battery-powered Portable Wi-Fi Speaker, three additional Wi-Fi Speakers as well as three new upgraded Wi-Fi Sound Bars. These speakers are designed to be compatible with Android and iOS devices and allow consumers to build a custom home audio system that can be controlled using LG's Music Flow mobile app. Using the app, each LG Music Flow Wi-Fi device can be used independently or connected to one another device wirelessly.
LG Music Flow devices will be among the first to be Google Cast Ready, enabling users to cast audio content from streaming services like Google Play™ Music, Pandora, Songza and more. Users simply tap the cast button in their favorite apps on Android, iOS, or the web, and select a Google Cast Ready speaker to get started.
"Based on the success of Chromecast, we're excited to expand the Google Cast ecosystem by working with leading manufacturers such as LG to include audio devices," said Suveer Kothari, Google Cast Director of Business Development.
iHeartRadio, the free, all-in-one digital audio service, also joined forces with LG Electronics to deliver virtually limitless music options for the LG Music Flow Wi-Fi series. iHeartRadio will be natively integrated into the convenient Music Flow Player app, enabling users to seamlessly enjoy thousands of live radio stations from across the country or create their own custom stations from a catalog of more than 20 million songs and 800,000 artists.
Additional streaming partners include the popular services Rhapsody, Spotify and TuneIn for literally millions of other music options in addition to consumers' personal music libraries. Spotify users can take advantage of Spotify Connect, which will act as a remote, allowing them to control their LG Music Flow speakers through the app.
"LG's Music Wi-Fi series offers both music lovers flexibility and audio quality beyond what traditional audio systems have offered," said David VanderWaal, LG Electronics USA's head of marketing. "By incorporating Google Cast technology and working with leading streaming services, we're offering users even more choice when it comes to enjoying their listening experience."
The LG Music Flow Wi-Fi series is designed to be modular, so customers can start with just one speaker and add more over time to create a customized listening experience throughout their home. It also comes with LG HomeChatTM capability that allows users to control the LG devices using the popular LINE free-text messaging app on any smartphone or tablet. With this feature, users can send a text to the audio system using simple commands such as "play songs for party" or "turn off music after one hour."
With HomeChat, LG Music Flow Wi-Fi Series can also act as a personal assistant, setting alarms and alerting users of upcoming events on command. What's more, the Auto Music Play feature gives LG Music Flow the ability to deliver a user experience that maximizes convenience for listeners on the go. Music on a smartphone will automatically begin playing on a Music Flow Wi-Fi speaker when the phone comes within one foot.
Visitors to LG's booth at CES 2015 (Las Vegas Convention Center, Central Hall #8204) from Jan. 6-9 can experience LG's exciting new Music Flow products firsthand. The lineup includes the company's first battery-powered Portable Wi-Fi Speaker; model H4 (NP8350) additional Portable Wi-Fi Speakers; models H7 (NP8740), H5 (NP8540) and H3 (NP8340); and upgraded Sound Bars; (models LAS950M, LAS851M and LAS751M).
