LG Electronics Sees Growth in U.S. HVAC Market, Unveils New Energy Efficient Products at AHR Expo
Company Highlights Addition of More Training Academies Across Country to Handle Demand
ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics today announced new initiatives and energy efficient products designed to grow the company's U.S. commercial and residential HVAC business at AHR Expo (booth# 4310).
As a fairly new player in the U.S. HVAC market, LG Electronics began investing in this market over the past decade. Underscoring this commitment to the U.S. HVAC market, LG is introducing three new high SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rated) models for Commercial and Commercial Light applications.
In the U.S., the company's commercial air conditioning group has grown significantly, with many new employees added to the organization over the past few months. LG air conditioning systems are now installed in more than 40,000 residential and commercial properties in the United States. Anticipating growth, LG opened its first commercial air conditioning training academy in December 2009 just outside of Atlanta, Ga. Since then, LG has opened an additional facility in California to better serve its west coast customer base, and the company plans to open two other academies later this year.
"LG Electronics has been one of the world's largest producers of air conditioners and here in the United States, we are building on this global leadership position and looking to grow the business in this market," said Kelly Cutchins, vice president, Commercial Air Conditioning, LG Electronics USA, Inc. "Illustrating that commitment this week, we have energy efficient heating and cooling solutions that blend effortlessly into a wide range of commercial and residential environments. And, supporting the industry's training needs and especially our growing customer base we are excited to have opened two training academies in the last two years and we have more plans in store in 2010 and beyond."
Energy Efficient Climate Control
Best known for its advanced duct-free systems, LG's commercial air conditioning products provide cost-effective and energy efficient climate control solutions. Expanding the company's line of energy efficient products, LG is showcasing three new high SEER models. These models range in efficiency from 18.4 SEER to 20 SEER and qualify for the Federal Energy Efficiency Tax benefit. This brings LG's Federal Energy Efficiency Tax qualifying models to six (four single-zone models and two multi-zone models). These new high SEER models will be introduced in the 2nd quarter of 2010.
Further enhancing the LG's commercial air conditioning product lines, the company highlighted its innovative new "Environmental Control Manager" control on LG's HVAC offerings for the lodging industry. This technology provides a versatile energy management tool to hoteliers. With this tool, hoteliers have the convenience of complete programmability and temperature control via the Internet, from anywhere in the world, for both occupied and unoccupied rooms, saving money by lowering energy consumption operational cost. Its occupancy sensor senses both motion and heat, and has the ability to control unit operation to obtain the ideal room environment from both the owner's and the guest's perspective.
Also on display this week in the LG booth is the company's line of Multi-V systems and ART Cool products. For commercial businesses seeking to reduce energy consumption, LG is showcasing its Multi-V system, which offers a cost-efficient solution with Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology to ensure comfort. VRF refers to the system that controls the amount of refrigerant flowing to each evaporator of the indoor unit. Indoor evaporators are available for different capacity, configuration, and individualized comfort control as well as simultaneous heating and cooling in different zones. With this system, commercial businesses have control of temperature zoning to avoid expending unnecessary energy in unoccupied rooms.
The ART Cool Picture (model LAN121HNP) combines artful air conditioning and climate control for an all-in-one solution that is stylish as well as functional. It also provides a three dimensional air flow system with the look and feel of a stylish photo frame. Additionally, the Art Cool Inverter Mirror line (model LAN125HV) features a slim rectangular wall-mounted interior evaporator with a one-way air flow system. Available in a variety of custom finishes, the Inverter line can be fit to enhance any room's décor.
Commitment to Expanding the U.S. Market
With two training facilities opened in the last 14 months, LG Electronics USA is continuing to increase access to industry experts who can offer insights for professionals looking to expand their knowledge base and further their education in the field. The training academies focus on educating a diverse audience on LG's advanced applied commercial products, duct-free and energy efficient solutions and other products that can broaden contractors' portfolio.
Having trained more than 1,000 contractors, installers and engineers at the Atlanta facility and more than 2,000 total including offsite training sessions in just the last year, professional growth options are becoming easier and more convenient to those in the industry. Two additional training facilities are planned to be opened in 2010, further enhancing the educational opportunities for professionals in the HVAC industry.
