Leviton's New Vizia RF +™ Installer Tool Integrates User-Friendly Features
Advanced Software Helps Certified Installers Optimize, Integrate and Maintain Vizia RF + Home Automation Systems with Ease
MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Leviton Manufacturing has introduced a new system programming software for its revolutionary line of Vizia RF + home automation products. The Vizia RF + Installer Tool, which offers a variety of advanced features, assists professionals with the programming of Vizia RF + wireless lighting and home control technology. Users can create and modify Z-Wave networks, program controllers with dramatic scene transitions and zone lighting control and set industry standard 2-way status updating. Additional features include network optimization, integration with 3rd party devices and onsite network maintenance features.
"The Vizia RF + Installer Tool incorporates functionality that is simple and intuitive, making programming a network faster and easier than ever," said Amanda Mancuso, Product Marketing Manager for Leviton. "We listened to what certified installers needed most, and aimed to provide them with a premier software package that provides superior usability."
With the new software, installers now have the convenience of operating system features from any Windows®-enabled PC (the software supports Windows Server 2003; Windows Server 2008; Windows Vista; Windows XP; Windows 7), and later transferring and updating those specifications to the home system at a job site. Once the system is installed, the software allows for on-site troubleshooting.
Along with the ability to work with other wireless Z-Wave® products, the software eases the process of creating and saving networks and defining lighting events and areas - the robust tool utilizes Windows "drag and drop" functionality familiar to most users.
In addition, installers can perform a variety of functions using the new software, including:
- Set up and program an unlimited number of Z-Wave® systems with unique home IDs
- Inclusion or exclusion of Z-Wave® nodes
- Utilize Windows "drag and drop" functionality
- Use a checklist that guides them through a Vizia RF + installation or advanced programming
- Generate device, controller and area reports
- Optimize, repair, and recover Z-Wave® networks
- Perform diagnostic tests on a network
- Scheduled events including dawn/dusk timers
- Full syncing of areas, times event and profiles
- Supports Z-Wave BASIC command set
A true integration of household electrical devices, the new Vizia RF + Installer Tool is part of the Vizia RF + Line, a home lighting automation system providing enhancement to new construction or upgrades and value to existing homes. Leviton's high-performing Vizia RF + Line is equipped to create up to 128 areas, 255 scenes and 16 custom profiles.
The programming software is available free for download for certified installers at www.leviton.com/rfinstallertool. Programming USB flash drives are sold separately at Leviton's network of electrical distribution locations.
