Leviton Launches EN50131 and PD6662 Compliant Omni Security & Automation Systems

Specialized Controllers Meet Police Confirmation Requirements

NEW ORLEANS, May 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leviton today announced the launch of the EN50131 and PD6662 compliant Omni product family, comprised of EU versions of the OmniPro II, Omni IIe, and Omni LTe controllers in both English and Italian language versions, along with a new Tamper Kit for Omni security consoles. The Omni product family provides security and automation for homes and small commercial settings, connecting security devices, thermostats, light switches, telephone and backup battery with five built-in ports to connect additional control devices.

The award-winning Omni solution is a globally-utilized residential/light commercial focused system bridging many protocols, including hard-wired and wireless, to include hundreds of connected devices in various applications. Omni controllers coordinate security, energy and entertainment functionality with EN50131 Grade 2 compliance for intrusion and PD6662 compliance in the United Kingdom for confirmed police response.

The EN50131 versions include special features not found in the standard Omni control systems, such as controller enclosures that include required tamper switches, ensuring the door remains closed and that the enclosure remains installed against a solid surface. Additionally, the ENTMP- 9EU is now used with existing Omni security consoles as a tamper indicator. Additional special features in the EN50131 versions include:

Double end of line resistors for tamper detection
New arming/disarming methods
Shunt lock incorporation
Confirmed alarms for police response
Temporary lockout when entering an invalid code
Enhanced event log
User authorized firmware updates
Entry/exit follower
Adjustment to security code usage and visibility

The Leviton Omni controllers feature EN50131 Class II, Grade 2 equipment for control and indicating equipment and have the following compliance listings: EN 50131-1:2006, EN 50131-3:2009, EN 50131-6, and PD 6662:2010. Additionally, an Expansion Enclosure (OA179-9EU) and Omni Console Tamper Kit (ENTMP-9EU) assist with compliance. The English versions of the EN50131 and PD6662 compliant product family are now available, and the Italian versions will ship soon. The OmniPro II is available in English (OP202-900) and Italian (OP202-9IT). The Omni IIe is available in English (20A50-900) and Italian (20A050-9IT). The Omni LTe is available in English (20A70-900) and Italian (20A70-9IT).
