Leviton Announces Appointment of Meir Blonder to General Counsel
MELVILLE, N.Y., April 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Leviton announced the appointment of Meir Blonder to the role of General Counsel. In his new role, Mr. Blonder will be responsible for all of Leviton's legal matters, along with overseeing all legal staff. In addition to his role as General Counsel, Mr. Blonder will maintain his current position as Leviton's Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, supporting Leviton offices and facilities across five countries.
Mr. Blonder has served as Leviton's Chief Intellectual Property Counsel since 2006, during which he created and headed the company's Intellectual Property (IP) Department. Prior to joining Leviton, Mr. Blonder spent thirteen years in private practice as an IP attorney. His last six years before joining Leviton were focused on complex patent litigation at Skadden Arps.

A licensed member of the New York State Bar, Mr. Blonder holds a Juris Doctorate from Cardozo Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Hofstra University. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
