Leving to Address Challenges Facing Low Income Fathers in Los Angeles
CHICAGO, Feb 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving will present on a critical panel at the 13th Annual National Fatherhood & Families Conference on the increasingly important topic of Fathers' Rights. Leving will present Wednesday, February 22, starting at 10:00am PST at the Westin Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.
Entitled "Reaching Common Ground: Father's Rights and Responsibilities," the panel will also include speakers Lori A. Cruz, Deputy Director, Child Support Services Department, Los Angeles and Richard A. Claytor Jr., Fatherhood Consultant, Boston.
Paternity, custody, child support are all issues that are impacted by court decisions and require strong legal advocacy and an understanding of the family law systems. Leving, the author of three books including "Fathers' Rights: Hard-Hitting and Fair Advice for Every Father Involved in a Custody Dispute," will address the complexities of the challenges low income fathers face in their children's lives.
The methodology of how states develop strategies, policies and programs that assist non-custodial parents in their efforts to become responsible parents will also be addressed during the panel discussion.
Both Leving and Claytor serve on the Families & Fathers Coalition of America (FFCA) Board of Directors.
"I'm honored to be on the panel to engage practitioners and service providers on a topic that is increasingly more relevant in today's society," Leving said. "The rights of low income fathers do not get the attention and support they deserve and I hope the panel will help define how low-income fathers' rights should be addressed."
