LEVICK Brings Aboard Former Congressman Connie Mack IV as Executive Vice President in Continuation of Major Public Affairs Expansion
-Insights Gleaned from Nearly a Decade in Congress Will Enhance Strategic Value for Integrated Communications Firm -
WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In continuation of LEVICK's rapid expansion of its public affairs capabilities, LEVICK announced today the hiring of former Congressman Connie Mack IV (R-Florida), who will assume the role of Executive Vice President for the firm. Mack served 4 terms in the United States House of Representatives and served as Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs' Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, which has jurisdiction over half the globe.
"Connie is a perfect fit for the kind of communications-supported advocacy capabilities we're creating at LEVICK because he knows firsthand what is effective in building consensus and helping legislators do the right thing," said Mark Irion, President of LEVICK. "Our goal is to build consensus around what's true and unwind the spin on behalf of our clients. Connie Mack embodied that as a legislator and brings that same ethic to LEVICK as a communicator. Connie knows that effective advocacy doesn't stop at direct lobbying, but includes helping decision makers' constituencies coalesce around what's true."
Mack will serve full time as Executive Vice President for LEVICK, working across all practice areas including the firm's recently-reshaped Advocacy and Public Affairs practice. He will also be leading LEVICK's regional expansion into Florida and will open the Miami office.
Lanny Davis, renowned strategist and crisis manager and former White House Special Counsel under President Clinton, also joined LEVICK as an Executive Vice President earlier this year, and the leadership team of Mack and Davis will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to LEVICK's clients. Earlier in 2014, LEVICK added Rick Kessler, Mike Scrivner, Jessica Lenard and Pete Leon to the advocacy team, while also adding grassroots campaign and digital advocacy professionals.
"LEVICK's approach is bi-partisan, solution-oriented, and focused on building trust," Irion added. "Both Connie and Lanny bring the insights gained from their impressive careers in the public and private sectors to our clients' needs, which are solved right at the nexus of communications, politics, and law. These solutions will continue to be invaluable to those who come to LEVICK to provide them."
"I am so pleased to join such a highly-regarded firm as LEVICK and working hand-in-hand with Mark, Lanny, and all of the talented professionals who make up the firm," said Mack. "LEVICK provides the pragmatic and solutions-based approach I brought every day to my work in Congress and in my own consulting practice. I am proud to be a part of the firm's expansion and I look forward to helping the team build consensus around what's true on behalf of their current and future clients."
