Let's Talk About Sex! Amy Schumer's Original One-Hour Stand-Up Special "Amy Schumer: Mostly Sex Stuff" Premieres on COMEDY CENTRAL® Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT
NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nothing is off-limits for Amy Schumer in the world premiere of her first original one-hour stand-up special, "Amy Schumer: Mostly Sex Stuff," premiering on COMEDY CENTRAL on Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Before a live audience at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco, Schumer airs every hilarious, messed up detail of her dating and sex life, from encounters with unexpected body parts to hate-filled personal grooming appointments. In her matter-of-fact raunchy style, at odds with her self-described "Cabbage Patch Kid" appearance, Schumer tells stories of a boyfriend who makes dirty requests over dinner, the way she outsmarts her birth control, and a shocking ending to a seemingly innocent cab ride.
Leading up to the on-air premiere, the COMEDY CENTRAL Stand-Up Web site will feature preview clips from the special.
Schumer, a breakout performer on last year's "COMEDY CENTRAL Roast of Charlie Sheen," will once again take the dais as a Roaster at this summer's "COMEDY CENTRAL Roast of Roseanne," airing Sunday, August 12 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. COMEDY CENTRAL recently announced it has greenlit Schumer's sketch series, which will feature single-camera vignettes centered around a theme with Schumer playing heightened versions of herself. She has been featured as one of Variety's "Top Ten Comics to Watch" and had a spread this year in Rolling Stone magazine. Recently appearing in "Seeking a Friend at the End of the World," starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley, Schumer also has appeared on "Delocated" on Adult Swim, HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," NBC's "Last Comic Standing" and "30 Rock," and has been seen regularly on MTV and VH1's "Best Week Ever" and "I Love the 80s."
Selected for the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival's "New Faces" category in 2007, Schumer tours regularly, headlining in comedy clubs around the country. She has performed stand-up on "Conan," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" "The Howard Stern Show," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," as well as COMEDY CENTRAL's "Live at Gotham," "Reality Bites Back" and "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show."
"Amy Schumer: Mostly Sex Stuff" is executive produced by Schumer, Rick Austin, Mike Rothman, and Itay Reiss; and directed by Ryan Polito. Jonas Larsen and Toni Magon are the Executives in Charge of Production for COMEDY CENTRAL.
