CHICAGO, Sept. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Global fitness leader Les Mills, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Les Mills International, will relocate the company's U.S. headquarters to Chicago, Illinois in the first quarter of 2017. The move will increase operational efficiencies, allowing the company to grow more quickly and deliver better service and results to its 3,500 U.S. customers spanning all 50 states.
Established in Auckland, New Zealand in 1968 by four-time Olympian Les Mills, Sr., Les Mills inspires millions of people to get moving every week by combining great music and cutting-edge science into 20 different group exercise, adult team training and youth fitness programs.
"The decision to re-unite the U.S. operations and relocate the headquarters to Chicago is directly attributed to our strategic shift to become more customer-centric and provide 360-degree support services to our customers – enabling them to build stronger relationships with their members and create healthier businesses," said Les Mills U.S. CEO Brian Gagne.
Les Mills U.S. will move to 363 W. Erie Street in the heart of Chicago's River North neighborhood. With offices previously in Baltimore, Maryland and San Francisco, California, Les Mills' decision to consolidate office locations was based on the proximity to current and potential customers. Additionally, being in Chicago allows Les Mills easier access to collaborate with partners across its global organization and support the needs of the 33,000 certified instructors that teach Les Mills programs in over 3,500 U.S.-based fitness and health facilities.
"We see this as a new opportunity to enhance and improve our business and we look forward to welcoming our team members into a productive environment that will enhance our collaboration and spirit of service," continued Gagne.
