Roberts Accepts Two Year Term as President for Philanthropy's San Francisco Chapter
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As an avid Les Dames d'Escoffier International supporter for more than five years, Kikkoman is proud to announce that Chef Helen Roberts, CCP has been named president of the philanthropy's San Francisco chapter. Roberts, who served as vice president for the past two years, will be inducted at the Les Dames d'Escoffier International's Annual New Member Reception and Board Inductee Dinner, taking place this evening at San Francisco's E&O Kitchen.
Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI) is a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality. The invitation-only membership, which is composed of 36 individual chapters, spans the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. To date, 90+ women make up the San Francisco chapter, which was founded in 1989 and will now be led by Helen Roberts.

Prior to her appointment as president, Roberts served on the LDEI board for three years, followed by a two year term as vice president. Roberts contributes her expertise in the areas of communications and culinary innovation. In her two year term as president, Roberts will help advance opportunities for women who are training for, or are engaged in, careers related to food, wine, and hospitality. Additionally, Roberts will advise and assist fellow members in matters pertaining to the industry, disseminate information to advance the purposes and interests of the Chapter and promote high standards in the supply, preparation, and services of food and wine.
For more than 30 years, Roberts has led culinary innovation for Kikkoman Sales USA, INC. developing a wide-variety of Asian-American recipes that are accessible to home cooks. Roberts is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy and has studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. As an active member of the San Francisco Professional Food Society, and former board member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP), Roberts works to inspire and connect young industry professionals with mentors to help them discover the many facets of the culinary industry.
