Leora K. Knight is recognized by Continental Who's Who

GROVE CITY, Ohio, Sept. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leora K. Knight is recognized by Continental Who's Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Public Safety. Leora is the Chief of the Tax Distribution Section of the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

Comprised of several divisions such as the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Ohio Emergency Medical Services, Ohio Emergency Management Agency, Ohio Homeland Security, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services, the Ohio Department of Public Safety ensures the safety and well-being of Ohioans across the state.

Leora has been working for the Ohio Department of Public Safety for seventeen years, working her way up to her current position as Chief. In this capacity, she works in the areas of accounting, budgets, collections, leadership, management, training and more.  Leora is responsible for the distribution of Ohio motor vehicle license and permissive tax, the distribution of money for special plates as well as collection on customer returned payments. Throughout the year, over a half billion dollars are distributed to the state's counties, municipalities and townships, to other states and Canadian provinces under the International Registration Plan, and to colleges, universities, and non-profit organizations.

The recipient of the Excellence and Service Award from the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Leora is a member of the National Association of Professional Women.

Looking toward the future, she plans on continuing to help fulfill the Ohio Department of Public Safety's mission, which is to save lives, reduce injuries and economic loss, to administer Ohio's motor vehicle laws and to preserve the safety and well-being of all Ohio citizens with the most cost-effective and service-oriented methods available.
