Leon Speakers Featured in the 2010 WIRED Store
Leon Speakers and Stereo Exchange Come Together to Provide a Designer-Friendly, Custom Audio Experience
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Leon Speakers, worldwide leaders in custom high-fidelity audio, today announced that their Detail Series speakers will be featured in the 2010 WIRED Store in New York City, an annual experiential gallery open during the holidays. Leon Speakers, in collaboration with Stereo Exchange (one of New York's finest audio/video retailers), will capture the store's "Shop and Share" theme by demonstrating the fundamental interactivity of custom audio design.
WIRED, the cutting-edge magazine known for innovation and design, has curated more than 200 engaging products, along with interactive installations, for its annual WIRED Store gallery. The shopping space includes everything that's new and next in consumer electronics, gaming, active gear, home goods, eco-lifestyle items, apparel and children's toys in the three-level historic Tower Records building in the NoHo neighborhood of New York City.
Located at 692 Broadway (at 4th Street), the WIRED Store will be open to the public between November 19 and December 26 from 11am to 7pm Wednesdays through Sundays. (The Store is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.) Visitors are invited to explore the gallery, test products and attend events at the WIRED Store throughout the six-week span. Customers may purchase featured products online at www.wired.com/wiredstore beginning November 19.
"We are excited to partner with Stereo Exchange in New York City and provide custom speakers for the WIRED store, a forum of modern tech-culture and interactivity," said Ethan Kaplan, Marketing Director at Leon Speakers. "As a custom manufacturer, all of our speakers are inherently interactive – built to the exact specifications of our clients. Our involvement in the store demonstrates how we interact with our clientele on a daily basis and ultimately provide a high-fidelity audio experience that disappears within the environment."
The WIRED Store will be outfitted with several pairs of Leon's Detail Ds115 bookshelf/surround speakers, each one custom built, painted – silver cabinets with electric-blue faces – and equipped with 5" Peerless woofers and 1" silk-dome tweeters. These decor-matched speakers can be heard by shoppers throughout the store, delivering a high-fidelity audio experience to the entire space.
Leon is excited to showcase the possibilities for interactivity in inanimate products, such as speakers. At the core of Leon's philosophy is a belief in promoting relationships between the manufacturer, the designer, the systems integrator (like Stereo Exchange) and, ultimately, the client. These connections are essential to designing a seamlessly integrated home entertainment system. To support this model, Leon Speakers offers clients a vast range of custom options at every stage of production, and the company's unwavering dedication to creativity and craftsmanship places it at the forefront of the custom audio industry.
