Lennar to Build in Springfield

FORT MILL, S.C., Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lennar has committed to purchasing 40 homesites in Springfield from Crescent Resources, LLC, prompting Crescent to start development of a new section within the community. Lennar has developed a new collection of home plans specifically designed to complement Springfield and will open a model home/design center in late-summer.

"Since we opened Springfield in 2006, builders in the community have offered a choice for homebuyers," said James Martin, vice president of Crescent Communities. "From the golf villa homes by The Cunnane Group to custom-built homes, buyers have had a range of options and prices to meet their living needs. Lennar is a welcome addition to this mix, furthering the array of housing choices at Springfield."

Lennar will build exclusively in the new section accessed via a new entrance and street off Merritt Road. Home plans will range from three- to six-bedrooms, and will be priced from $265,990.

The new section overlooks the 12th hole of Springfield Golf Course. The picturesque 18-hole golf course at the center of the Springfield community has been one of the most popular daily fee courses in the area since opening in 2001. Four holes flank Sugar Creek and 13 holes play across and along perennial streams that feed into the Catawba River.

Golf isn't the only amenity that Springfield offers. Orchard Park, a large swim and tennis center and clubhouse operated by a full-time Activities Director, serves residents. Through the property owners association, residents are automatically members of the adjacent Anne Springs Close Greenway – 2,000 acres of oak, hickory and dogwood forests, lakes and pastures and 32 miles of trails for hiking, cycling and horseback riding. Residents have access to the Springfield Dairy Barn (built 1946) for events and the Leroy Springs Recreational Complex, as well.  

Springfield is within the Fort Mill School District, and located off Springfield Parkway just three miles from I-77 and six miles from I-485.
