CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- LendingTree®, the nation's leading online loan marketplace, has launched a question and answer community within its Loan Officer Directory platform, where consumers are able to ask licensed loan officers loan-related questions and loan officers are able to provide answers related to applying or qualifying for a loan, loan options, loan payments, loan closings and more.
LendingTree's Loan Officer Directory, launched in January 2014, is a resource directory of NMLS Officers, giving each loan officer who claims a profile the opportunity to engage prospective customers through a personalized page that includes a short bio, photograph and customer reviews. Consumers are able read reviews from the loan officers' past customers, giving greater insight into the customer service of each individual loan officer who completes his or her profile.
The question and answer forum enables consumers and prospective borrowers to pose a question to the loan officer community, and loan officers can provide answers in the states where they are licensed. Consumers can ask specific questions related to their personal borrowing situation, including questions related to qualifying, applying, selecting, or closing a loan and more. Because only licensed loan officers are able to answer consumer questions, the responses can be more detailed and informative. Additionally, once a consumer is signed in to My LendingTree, he or she can vote on the responses from loan officers, further incentivizing loan officers to provide helpful answers and making it easy to find the best answer for a given question.
"It's common for consumers to have questions about borrowing even before they begin the loan process," said Doug Lebda, founder and CEO of LendingTree. "Until now, there hasn't been an easy way for a borrowers to connect with a licensed loan officer or have loan questions answered without filling out forms or beginning the loan process. LendingTree has created a new way for borrowers to connect with lenders, but now on the loan officer level, with the added benefit of being able to read about and see reviews of individual loan officers. It's a great resource for consumers who may have questions about a loan but are still in the research stage, and for loan officers to grow their prospective customer base."
Loan officers who would like to claim their profile to begin answering questions from consumers can search for their name here: www.lendingtree.com/local-listing/ or contact [email protected] with any questions regarding their profile.
