NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Global integrated property and infrastructure provider Lend Lease participated in its 18th annual Community Day on September 19th. Across the globe over 6,100 Lend Lease employees are volunteering in over 330 community based projects. Lend Lease's Community Day is focused on delivering benefits to communities in which Lend Lease employees live and work. Increasingly, Community Day projects have become strategically aligned to address social, economic and environmental issues challenging communities around the globe.
This year Lend Lease will be participating in a variety of projects supporting inspirational community groups and causes throughout the Americas region. Over 1,000 employees of Lend Lease in the Americas are volunteering on 75 projects, that are focused on building, gardening, cleaning, painting and undertaking a range of projects benefiting children, families, animals, and veterans in need, to name a few. Also, Lend Lease will participate in a wide range of projects supporting environmental initiatives across parks and communities gardens.
Lend Lease employees will be volunteering with many different to nonprofit organizations and governmental organizations across the Americas region from as far away as Hawaii to as south as Mexico City. Some of the organizations that employees of Lend Lease will be providing volunteer services for are Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, United States Green Building Council, New York City's Department of Homeless Services and many other large and small organizations.

Employees are encouraged to collaborate with a community organization on projects that have geographic, personal and professional relevance. 2013 marks Lend Lease's 18th consecutive Community Day, since 1996 Lend Lease employees have donated over 500,000 hours worldwide to community projects.
