Leinenkugel's® To Leaders Nationwide: Make The Longest Summer Friday A Short Work Day For Your Employees
Brewers of Summer Shandy® Encourage Companies to Celebrate a Leinie Friday Afternoon
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis., June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co. challenged business leaders nationwide today, encouraging them to let employees of legal drinking age leave work early on June 17, the longest summer Friday of the year, so that they could go enjoy an ice-cold Shandy instead of waiting around for the office copier to finish printing.
Hoping to spark a national summer Friday revolution, the nearly 150-year-old brewery will ignite this movement by hosting more than 1,000 events in bars and restaurants across the country that afternoon. Leinie Fridays are aimed at encouraging employees to step away from their desks and enjoy an afternoon filled with good food, great friends and of course, Shandy.
"Research shows people are working longer days than they ever have before. They are missing out on what makes summer so amazing; for us that's sunshine and an ice-cold Summer Shandy," said Dick Leinenkugel, president of the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. "Fridays are meant for celebrating a great week of hard work and we're thrilled to be the catalyst."
All summer long, the brand will be using the hashtag #LeinieFriday across its social channels to highlight this initiative. To learn more about Leinenkugel's and Leinie Friday, please visit Facebook.com/Leinenkugels or follow the brewery on Instagram and Twitter @Leinenkugels.
